DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The love of trains was full steam ahead at the Decatur Civic Center Saturday.
After a five year break, the Decatur Train Fair rolled back into town this weekend. The event has vendors, train layouts, and activities showcasing railroad history.Â
Organizers said it is important to have events like this for both kids and adults.
"It gives them a hobby that will last a lifetime," Event Coordinator Mary Traxler said. "When kids start out with trains, they're either going to love them or hate them. If they love them, they're going to grow into an adult that also loves this hobby."
The fair will also be open on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $8, but kids 12 and under get in for free.
