'Hot Ones' host Sean Evans to serve as 2026 U of I Commencement speaker

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - "Hot Ones" host Sean Evans is set to be the University of Illinois Commencement speaker in May.

The University will have its Commencement at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at Gies Memorial Stadium.

Evans is a U of I alumnus and graduated from Illinois with a broadcast journalism degree in 2008.

"Hot Ones" has Evans interview various stars while eating chicken wings with progressively hotter sauces in a talk-show setting.

According to the U of I, Evans received a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2021 and has won other internet entertainment awards.
