CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that the Olympian Drive on-ramp to Interstate 57 in Champaign will be closed for two weeks. 

IDOT said that the closure will begin on May 4.  

Other ramp closures at the interchange are estimated to take place at the following schedule:

  • Northbound I-57 to Olympian Drive ramp, May 26 to June 26
  • Westbound I-74 to southbound I-57 ramp, July 23 to Aug. 20
  • Northbound I-57 to westbound I-74 ramp, June 4 to June 26
  • Northbound I-57 to eastbound I-74 ramp, July 8 to July 22
  • Eastbound I-74 to southbound I-57 ramp, July 23 to Aug. 20
  • Southbound I-57 to eastbound I-74 ramp, July 23 to Aug. 20
  • Eastbound I-74 to northbound I-57 ramp, May 26 to June 26
  • Westbound I-74 to northbound I-57 ramp, May 26 to June 26
  • Southbound I-57 to westbound I-74 ramp, June 24 to July 22

IDOT stated that the project is set to be completed by the end of 2026, with final tweaks continuing into next spring.
