CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — The Champaign County Coroner has identified a man killed in a shooting Sunday morning. 

Champaign Police officers responded to reports of a shooting just after 3 a.m. in the 2500 block of West Springfield Avenue Aug. 24. 

Officers arrived at the scene and found a 35-year-old man, whom the Coroner identified as 35-year-old RL Selvin, with gunshot wounds unconscious and not breathing when they arrived. 

Selvin was transported to the Carle Foundation Hospital Emergency Department in Urbana, where he died just after 3:30 a.m. Sunday. 

Shortly after, two men were arrested after CPD found the getaway vehicle in the 2000 block of Moreland Boulevard. After the investigation, officers arrested 32-year-old Tyson Moore and 37-year-old Deandre Newbill.

Police said Selvin was in a parking lot when Moore and Newbill shot him. Two guns were also found during the investigation.

Both men were charged with first-degree murder.

The investigation is still ongoing.
