CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - OSF plans to close two on-call urgent care centers in Champaign, according to a June 30 warn notice filed with the state of Illinois.
OSF will also close the cardiovascular unit at its Urbana-based Heart of Mary Medical Center and its medical group office in Champaign.
The warn notice indicates more than 120 workers will be laid off during the closures and restructuring, with layoffs set to begin Aug. 8.
On June 5, OSF announced it would combine its Danville and Urbana hospitals into one system with two campuses. Services will not be duplicated at each site.
OSF leaders said there are plans to expand behavioral health services.
Filings with the state cite over $361 million in losses since 2017, and beds sitting empty in some units.
If the plan is approved by the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board, the changes would begin Jan. 1, 2026.
