DAVENPORT, Iowa (WAND) — One week after announcing his resignation as Decatur's city manager, Tim Gleason was hired Wednesday night as Davenport's interim city administrator.

The city council voted unanimously to approve a six-month agreement with Gleason, which takes effect on November 3 and expires on May 3, 2026.

This agreement can be extended up to November 1, 2026 and can be terminated at any time with 30-days notice from either the city or Gleason.

Per the agreement, Gleason will make $6,413 weekly and will be provided a housing allowance.

Gleason announced his resignation from his position in Decatur on September 16 after less than two years into his second stint as city manager.

His resume and application were presented to the city council one day later on September 17, according to the Davenport city council agenda from that day.

In his letter of resignation, Gleason said that ongoing actions by one council member breached his employment agreement and "have made continued service untenable."

His last day as Decatur's city manager is October 31.
