SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — Lake Springfield hosted a state bass fishing tournament over the weekend.
The Illinois High School Coaches and Student State Tournament for bass fishing was at the lake on Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31. The city said over 50 high schools participated.
The Lindsay Boat Launches was reserved for the tournament from Friday, May 29 at 10 p.m. through Sunday, May 31 around 3 p.m. The Harbor Point and Sailboat Launches in Center Park, the Spaulding Dam Launch and Marine Point Launch was still open to the public.
Fish weigh-ins were held in the Lindsay Bridge area at 1 p.m. on each day of the tournament.
