DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — There was no foul play in the death of a man who was found dead next to a Danville creek last week, Danville police said. Â
Danville police responded just before 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday to a report of a man down and unresponsive in the 400 block of East Williams Street near Stoney Creek.
Officers found a 45-year-old man, now identified as Stephen R. Petmecky of Rantoul, lying next to the creek when they arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said there were no signs of trauma or foul play. His cause of death has not yet been determined, and the case is still under investigation.Â
