DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Decatur City Council got an update on the $45 million Clean Energy Innovation Hub at TCCI Manufacturing on Monday night.
The hub is a public-private partnership with TCCI, Richland Community College, the state of Illinois, and the City of Decatur.
Last spring, Governor JB Pritzker was on hand for the hub's grand opening as it was awarded the first incentive program tied to growing the state's EV industry.
A year later, TCCI said its hired workers and has its EV compressor production line up and running.
"Companies from across the county, from across the world. We're doing testing in our facility now for the Treiten group, which is one of the largest commercial vehicle trucking companies, bringing their most advanced thermal management systems here to Decatur," said Kara Demirjian Huss with DCC Marketing.
TCCI also officially opened its clean energy workforce academy in March as part of Richland's EnRich program.
The company will host a hiring event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 4.
