Mattoon – A Coles County judge sentenced Joshua Mefford to 41 years in prison.

 

Mefford was charged for killing another man during a motel robbery. A jury convicted the 25 year old on murder and robbery charges last month.

 

He beat the death and robbed 58 year old Robert Montague at the US Grant Motel in Mattoon. A judge sentenced Mefford to 36 years for murder conviction, and another 5 years for the robbery.

 

Mefford will have to service one hundred percent of the 36 years.
