DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — After hearing arguments last Friday, Macon County Associate Judge Lindsey Shelton has made a decision regarding the motions to dismiss indictments in the Doug and Kelly Nichols cases.

Douglas R. Nichols and Kelly J. Nichols were arrested in January on child pornography charges. In addition, Doug was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and criminal sexual assault. Both have pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Defense attorneys for the pair filed a motion to dismiss the charges against them, which Judge Shelton heard on Friday.

The judge made her decision this week. According to documents released to WAND News by Bolen, Robinson & Ellis, LLP, six of the 18 child pornography charges against Kelly Nichols have been dismissed and two of the 12 child pornography charges against Doug Nichols have been dismissed.
