DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Macon County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) will host a Search and Rescue training this weekend.Â
The training will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Rock Springs Conservation Area in Decatur.Â
According to Macon County EMA, first responders from multiple agencies will participate in hands-on search exercises in three designated training areas throughout the park.Â
Macon County EMA stressed that this is only a training exercise and there will be no threat to the public.Â
The training will help strengthen its ability to respond effectively and quickly when real searches are needed in the county.Â
