JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A man was arrested and charged for a string of burglaries in Jacksonville.Â
On March 26, the Jacksonville Police Department got a report of a burglary in the 1300 block of W. Walnut St. JPD later got six more burglary reports through April 1 and believed they were being committed by the same suspect.Â
The burglaries were reported in the 200 block of S. Mauvaisterre St., 200 block of Sandy St., 500 block of N. Main St., and two in the 200 block of W. Morgan St.Â
Police were able to use the help of witnesses and video surveillance to develop a suspect.Â
On April 1 at 7:05 p.m., detectives found Miles D. Pelehowski and place him under arrest for the burglaries.Â
After talking with him, police said they learned he was also responsible for a burglary that happened in the 300 block of W. State St. on Jan. 13.Â
Pelehowski was taken to the Morgan County Jail and cited for seven counts of burglary and one count of criminal damage to property. He is still in custody awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing.Â
