URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — An Urbana man was arrested Thursday in relation to the shooting of Taveon Davis last November.
Forty-five-year-old Daric Davis, no relation to Taveon, was located by United States Marshals and arrested in Champaign.
On November 9, police were called to the 1300 block of S. Philo Rd. just after 7 p.m. They found 24-year-old Taveon Davis with a gunshot wound to the torso.
He was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.
An arrest warrant was originally issued for Daric Davis on November, 10 2022. Urbana Police requested the assistance of the Marshals to locate Davis who had managed to avoid arrest.
After questioning by Urbana Police, Davis was transported to the Champaign County Jail where he will be held awaiting court proceedings.
