A failed robbery attempt has landed a Springfield man in jail.
Police say Gregory Roberts went into a Walgreens Pharmacy on South Sixth Street Thursday afternoon. Roberts allegedly implied he had a weapon and demanded money. However, the clerk refused. Roberts became frustrated and then took a cab to a Wal-Mart about a mile away. Investigators say Roberts tried the same hold-up scheme at the Wal-Mart and failed.
He left the store empty handed and was arrested in the parking lot.
