SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A man who was killed in a crash Saturday that involved a state trooper in Springfield has been identified. 

ISP said the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. Saturday near 6th Street and Linton.

Police said that the trooper was going south on 6th Street when they hit the man who was bent down in the road.

The Sangamon County Coroner confirmed that the man was taken to the hospital and was later pronounced dead just before 3:15 a.m. The coroner identified the man as Charles Henderson, 45, of Springfield. 

The coroner said Henderson died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash. 

The investigation is ongoing.
