DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Voters in central Illinois will head to the polls Tuesday to vote in a handful of contested races.
Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
In Decatur the two big races are for city council seats along with school board positions.
Chatham has a library tax referendum on the ballot for infrastructure repairs. While Champaign County has races for city council, park district, fire protection district and highway commissioners to name a few.
Turnout for these elections is traditionally low among registered voters. Champaign County is hoping for a turnout of 25% to 30%.
