National Hamburger Day: Where to get free, discounted burgers

(WAND) — Thursday is national hamburger day! The classic food item is popular across America at fast food chains and for summer cookouts.

Popular chains like Burger King and Dairy Queen are offering a variety of deals to celebrate the day. Below is a list of deals offered at chains across the country.

Burger King

On Thursday, May 28, members of Burger King's Royal Perks loyalty program receive a free hamburger with a purchase of $3 or more at participating restaurants, when ordering through the BK app or website. Loyalty program members can also get up to four months of Spotify Premium for free with a $10 purchase.

Buffalo Wild Wings

Anyone who newly signs up for the Buffalo Wild Wings rewards program can get a free burger with a purchase of $15 or more.

Hardee's

Rewards members are eligible for a buy one, get one for one cent deal on the Hardee's Famous Star burger on May 28.

Dairy Queen

Members of the DQ Rewards program can get $1 off any "Signature Stackburger" from May 25-31.

Sonic

Members of the Sonic Rewards loyalty program can get a free Sonic Smasher, All-American Smasher, or medium drink with a $3 purchase through May 31.

Arby's

Arby's is offering a buy one sandwich, get one free deal through the Arby's app from May 28-31.

Steak 'n Shake

On May 28, customers can show up to Steak n' Shake wearing or showing any American flag item, including hats, shirts, or pins, for a free double steakburger. The deal is limited to one per person, and is only valid in-store.

Wendy's

Wendy's is offering a one cent Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger with any purchase through the Wendy's app through June 1.
