Danville Public Works announced holiday waste collection schedule

DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A Charleston based construction firm plans on building a $10 million assisted-living home in Danville. 

The construction could begin as early as spring.

The large investment comes from Phillips Investments LLC. The company is planning on building at 650,000 square-foot facility on 22 acres of farmland.

The assisted-living home is planned to sit just north of the intersection of Bowman and Winter avenues. 

Vicki Haugen, President of Vermilion Advantage, said she has been working along side with the mayor of danville for months. 

Haugen's next step is to go to each local taxing body affected by the enterprise zone, and ask them to approve the project. 

This facility would provide 50 assisted-living units and a 24-unit-memory-care community for residents 65 years and older. It would also feature 24-hour-a-day care, three meals, daily activities, transportation to medical appointments, an emergency call system and Alzheimer's and dementia specialty care.Â
