DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Friday's Mega Millions jackpot reached $1.22 billion.

The winning numbers are: 3 - 7 - 37 - 49 - 55  - MB: 6

The megaplier was 3.

The cash option is worth $549.7 million. 

The jackpot was adjusted upward Friday morning due to high demand. The last Mega Millions jackpot winner was in September in Texas. 

According to Mega Millions, the jackpot has only been won three times in 2024. That's the fewest wins in a single year since 2002 - when the game started. In 2023, there were ten jackpot winners.

A winning jackpot ticket was sold in Illinois in June. It was worth $552 million. It was the largest lottery prize ever for an online player. The other 2024 winner was in New Jersey. That jackpot, in March, was worth more than $1.1 billion. 

If someone claims Friday's jackpot, it would be the fifth-highest Mega Millions jackpot ever and ninth-highest ever in the U.S. The other major lottery game in the U.S. is Powerball.

The overall odds of winning any Mega Millions prize is 1 in 24. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350.
