Meanwhile, the other EF2 was on the ground for over 44 miles, stretching from Cumberland county, through Clark and Edgar counties before moving into Indiana.  Â
One tornado in Macon county was rated EFU, or unknown, due to no damage associated with the storm.  Â
2 EF1 tornadoes were found in Effingham county; one in Iroquois county and another that spanned parts of Clark and Edgar counties.
2 EF0 tornadoes were also found; one in Cumberland county, the other is Iroquois county.
The spring season has been ripe with severe weather already. WAND Chief Meteorologist Jim Kosek reported Illinois has already seen about half its normal total for an entire year through just the first three months of 2025. The National Weather Service reported Illinois saw 142 tornadoes in 2024. The number bested the previous record high of 125 that was set in 2006.
