(WAND) - The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-0 tornado touched down in Vermilion County during a round of strong storms on Monday.

NWS said the tornado had 80 mph winds and touched down one mile west of Hoopeston.

Hoopeston is just over 40 minutes from Rantoul.

According to the NWS, there was only minor damage to two light poles.

This marked the 64th tornado in the WAND viewing area, which does not include all of central Illinois.

The region has been hit by severe weather and tornadoes harder than usual this season. In June, an EF-3 tornado in Effingham and an EF-2 tornado in Charleston were reported after strong storms ripped through the area.
