QUINCY, Ill. (WAND) — A man was shot Saturday morning after allegedly threatening Adams County Sheriff’s deputies with a knife.
Illinois State Police said, Adams County Sheriff's deputies responded just before 7 a.m. to Melview Road and S. 24th St. for a report of a man threatening a resident with a knife.
When deputies arrived on scene and confronted the suspect, he threatened them with the knife.
One of the deputies shot at the suspect. The suspect was taken to Blessing Hospital for treatment.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office requested the Illinois State Police Department of Criminal Investigation to look into the incident.
