TUSCOLA, Ill. (WAND) — Illinois State Police have confirmed that a DeKalb man died in a multiple vehicle crash in Tuscola on Monday.
A 59-year-old man from DeKalb was driving west in a 2023 Jeep Gladiator on US 36 just west of 1250 East in Douglas County a little after 3 p.m. He crossed the center line of the road and side swiped a truck. He continued driving and struck an SUV head on.

The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was flown to a regional hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Route 36 was closed in both directions for about five hours.
