SPRINGFIELD, IL- It is going to cost more than $137,000 to fix peeling paint in the state capitol building.
The Secretary of State's office is in charge of capitol maintenance and a spokesperson says they hope to have the project done by early January.
Lawmakers report back to Springfield January 3rd.
The peeling paint was spotted earlier this year on the interior dome above the capitol's third floor.
