EDGAR COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - A person was airlifted from a crash on Route 1 north of Paris Friday morning and a second person was taken by ambulance.
Illinois State Police said a two-vehicle crash happened at 7:11 a.m.
Paris Fire Department Chief Zack Janis said the crash at Route 1 and 1625th Street involved a semi-truck and SUV. The driver of the SUV had to be extricated and was taken by helicopter to the hospital. The driver of the semi was taken by ambulance.Â
IL 1 was shut down with detours posted at Horace Brocton Rd. and 1600th.Â
