Police: 2 juveniles hit by vehicle in Decatur after fight spilled out into the road

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Two juveniles were taken to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle in Decatur. Decatur police said it happened after a fight the juveniles were having spilled out onto the street from the sidewalk. 

Decatur police were called to the area of Jasper and Warren just before 8 p.m. for two people being hit by a vehicle. 

Police said they learned the juveniles were having a physical fight on the sidewalk that went out into the street. That is when they said the two ended up being hit. The ages of the juveniles were not released. 

They were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was not injured. 

Police told WAND News the driver remained on the scene, was cooperative and was not impaired. The driver was not cited. 

The juveniles were cited for the fight, police said.
