Wyndham Springfield City Centre Closed

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Springfield Police are continuing their search for answers regarding last week's intentional vandalism case, which has led to the temporary closure of the Wyndham Hotel.

According to police, on March 27,  officers were called to the hotel around 7 a.m. for a criminal damage report.

After further investigation officers found that an unknown suspect had caused extensive damage by cutting a main water pipe, destroying electrical units, damaging the building's operational computer system, and affecting all elevators.

The damage was severe enough to necessitate the hotel's closure.
