ARCOLA, Ill. (WAND) - REO Speedwagon singer Terry Luttrell was in a car crash near Arcola over the weekend.

The crash came after the 78-year-old musician performed at the State Farm Center in Champaign.

NBC Chicago reports Luttrell fell asleep at the wheel while headed to St. Louis after the concert. 

The crash happened on Interstate 57 near Arcola.

Luttrell suffered a broken sternum. 

He said he learned some of the nurses treating him had attended the concert.
