DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Decatur Fire Department was called out to battle a large brush and debris fire early Friday morning.Â
WAND News crews saw huge flames coming from brush and tree logs along the railroad tracks near the 700 block of N. Van Dyke Rd. around 4 a.m.Â
That section of Van Dyke will be closed while firefighters work to knock back the flames.Â
DFD told WAND wind speeds are complicating efforts, and they anticipate crews will be on scene "for quite some time."Â
Five fire companies were called out to respond.Â
WAND is working to learn more including who the property belongs to.Â
This is a developing story.Â
