SANGAMON COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - Sangamon County marked the opening of its new first-floor courtroom Tuesday at the Sangamon County Courthouse. 

The new courtroom is part of an ongoing renovation of the Sangamon County Complex, aimed at improving access to services and preparing the building for the future addition of the HUB. 

The updated space will be used mostly for traffic court and includes a payment center for the Circuit Clerk's Office just outside the courtroom. This will allow people to pay fines and fees immediately after their hearings. 

The courtroom is now open for use.
