SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - The Railyard, an outdoor food venue based around shipping containers has officially opened.
The new food venue is located just off South Sixth Street, just north of the newly constructed overpass part of the Springfield Rail Improvements Project.
"We are trying to be something different than anywhere else in Springfield," said Kirk Jefferis, owner.
The Railyard offers tacos, Texas BBQ, Ramen bowls, and a patio bar. There is also a café with coffee, pastries, sandwiches, and ice cream.
The Railyard is located at 2242 S. Sixth St., Springfield.
