DECATUR, IL- Katrina Giles, sister of 27 year-old murder suspect Timothy Giles, has now also been charged with murder.
Katrina Giles was arrested Monday and charged with obstruction of justice. Police say Katrina initially lied to them about her whereabouts the night her brother is suspected of attacking three members of the Eaton family.
Police re-arrested Katrina Wednesday afternoon on preliminary charges of two counts of murder, attempted murder, home invasion, domestic battery and aggravated battery. She is being held at the Macon County Jail on $2 million bond.
Police say phone records show Timothy called Katrina twice during the early morning hours of Friday, August 5. The first call was allegedly placed at 12:51 a.m., four minutes after police believe the murders took place. The second call was placed at 1:20 a.m. and lasted five minutes.
Police say the phone Timothy was using was a trac phone purchased by Katrina about 7 hours earlier at the Dollar General store in Macon, along with a bottle of bleach.
According to sworn statements, shortly after police began investigating this case, they discovered evidence they believe linked Timothy to the murders. The evidence, which was inside a backpack, included a knife, handgun and clothing covered in blood. Police say that a bottle of bleach was located near the backpack and that all of the evidence had been covered in bleach.
Police say that based on interviews, electronic information and other evidence collected, it is apparent that Katrina was an "active participant in the planning, execution and attempt" to cover up the murders of Cindanett and Lindsey Eaton and the attack of Casey Eaton. Â Â
