URBANA-CHAMPAIGN Ill. (WAND)Â - A new non-profit organization is making a name for themselves in the community. Sistering CU is an organization that is training community members to give a helping hand to new mothers.
"The volunteer would go for 2 hours a week, for 12 weeks or 12 visits and help out with holding the baby, talking to the primary give...care giver usually the mom.So they have to hold the baby so you know, mom could take a shower. or make a phone call, pay some bills, or take a nap," said co-founder Erin Murphy.
Joining Sistering CU is a simple process: a background check and a proper 3-4 hour training course with them is all that is needed.
Their next training course will be on October 3rd. For more information follow their Facebook page: Sistering CU or visit their website: sisteringcu.org
