Spirit of Giving toy drive returns December 6

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - WAND's annual Spirit of Giving toy drive returns on Dec. 6.

From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., people can stop by the WAND studios, 904 W. South Side Drive, to donate a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots Decatur and Macon County.

For 15 years WAND News has teamed up with Toys for Tots to collect toys for children in the community. With the community's help, we have collected more than 85,000 donations.

"The day of the Spirit of Giving at WAND we probably collect 80% of our toys that we give out," said Tommy Scroggins, coordinator.

All of the toys collected during the Christmas season will be taken to a large warehouse for families to shop for the children in their lives. Toys for Tots serves Northeast Community Fund, Salvation Army, and Dove, Inc.
