SPRINGFIELD, IL- A Springfield man who was shot last weekend has now died.
Anthony Gant Jr., 23, was pronounced dead from his injuries at St. John's Hospital Tuesday evening. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday morning.
Gant was shot in the 1900 block of South Wirt Street on Sunday.
Witnesses say the gunman may have been in a black vehicle.
This is Springfield's 6th murder of the year. Police say they are continuing to investigate but at this time they do not have any suspects.
