DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A man who was wanted in connection with an early morning stabbing in Decatur is now in custody. 

Police were called to the 1300 block of N. Edward St. at 2:27 a.m. 

They found a 32-year-old man with a stab wound to the upper body. The person was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

After investigating the scene and speaking with multiple witnesses, Decatur Police obtained an arrest warrant for 30-year-old Donald J. Burton for attempted murder. 

Just after noon, Decatur Police announced Burton had been arrested. 

All people charged with crimes are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
