CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) -- During half time of the men's game Saturday Terrence Shannon Jr was honored with his #0 jersey banner being raised into the rafters.
Last season he shattered Illinois single season scoring record dropping 736 points, making him the first Illini player to eclipse 700 points.
He said after playing two years for the Illini it's an honor to be recognized this way.
Illinois Athletic Director Josh Whitman apologized after Saturday's game because when Shannon's jersey was unveiled it was upside down.
