RANTOUL, Ill. (WAND) — Police are investigating after a 19-year-old man shot a gun outside of a Walmart in Rantoul Saturday afternoon.
The Rantoul Police Department responded to a possible active shooter call at the Walmart on Broadmeadow Road around 1:30 p.m.
When officers arrived, it was clarified that a person had shot a gun at a vehicle outside the building.
After talking to witnesses, police arrested 19-year-old McKinley Brown. Officers found the gun hidden nearby.
Police said nobody was hurt and there was no property damage.
Brown was taken to the Champaign County Jail on charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of a stolen firearm.
