FINDLAY, Ill. (WAND) — The Gift is a nonprofit second-hand store in Findlay, but it separates itself from other second-hand stores. Instead of paying with cash or card, you pay with gratitude.

The Gift is sponsored by First Christian Church, who also provided their parsonage for the storefront. The Gift operates solely off of donations, both monetary and physical items. All monetary donations are given to Samaritan's Purse. 

Chris Tippit said that the choice to not have a price tag on items at The Gift is the backbone of their cause. "The stipulation that we have is that - you know - it is a blessing." said Tippit. "We don't call it free, we call it a blessing because nothing in life is free ... so that's why we call it a gift."

Tippit said it's not just about helping out the less fortunate, but extending a hand to anyone who needs a little extra help. "There are so many appreciative people that just need a hand up. Not a handout, but a hand up."

The Gift accepts donations daily and is open Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Gift is run completely by volunteers, who organize donations every day. For more information about volunteering or donating, check out their Facebook page.
