DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Political experts are looking forward to new polling data after former President Trump’s conviction on 34 felony counts in New York. They will be looking for any shifts in voter sentiment which may impact the 2024 election in November.
“Even though clearly, some folks are saying it looks like the population is locked in, there is a possibility for movement among independents in some swing states,” Isabel Skinner of the University of Illinois – Springfield told WAND News. “I hope that we’ll have another high turnout election because high turnout elections are a great sign for our democracy.”
Skinner says swing states will play a role once again like they did in 2020. Those include Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Georgia and possibly North Carolina.
