Members of IlliniThon, the largest student-run philanthropic organization at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, hold up signs after a recent dance marathon announcing its year-end total of $102,010.13 raised for HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A year of fundraising ending in a "no-sitting" dance marathon led by a student-run philanthropic organization at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign raised over $100,000 for HSHS St. John's Children's Hospital. 

IlliniThon sponsors events through the year like a 5K, auctions, trivia nights and more resulted in a total of $102,010.13 being raised. 

IlliniThon joined more than 400 campuses across the United States in participating in the Children's Miracle Network dance marathon.

The funds will go toward the Children’s Hospital’s pediatric intensive care unit and neonatal intensive care unit. The NICU is the only Level III NICU in an 80-mile radius of Springfield, including 45 counties, and cares for 850 premature or critically ill newborns each year.
