SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - University of Illinois Springfield students are going trick-or-treating, but it is not candy they are after.
Students will be going door-to-door Halloween night collecting canned goods for the Central Illinois Foodbank.
Their goal is to collect 15,000 pounds of food.
They will be going throughout various Springfield neighborhoods between 4 and 8 p.m.
There will be 262 students, divided into 16 teams, trick-or-treating for canned goods.
Those teams spent last week distributing door hangers explaining their project.
