ASHMORE, Ill. (WAND) - Ashmore Estates in Coles County suffered significant damage in Wednesday's storms.

Tornadoes and storms ripped through central Illinois.

Pieces of Ashmore Estates' roof were scattered across the lawn. Bricks were also thrown across the area.

The roof was also damaged last January.

The owner of the estates streamed video of the damage on social media.

Ashmore Estates is a historic 1916 building that was originally built as an almshouse for the poor and mentally ill. It operated as a psychiatric facility until the mid 1980s.

Purchased by new owners in the mid-2000s, the estate was repurposed for haunted attractions and paranormal investigations.

It also suffered severe tornado damage in 2013.
