DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — WAND-TV was honored with two regional Emmy Awards at this year's Mid-America Emmys. 

WAND Wake-Up Anchor Deron Molen and Photojournalist Eric Ahola won the Human Interest - News Emmy for Endurance: The Recovery of Amber Johnson. 

WAND's promotions and creative services teams were also honored with the Emmy in the Promotion - News category for a campaign about WAND Now - WAND's steaming app. Recipients of the award included Lee Larkins, Jordan Baker, Suzanne Johnson, Shea Kelly, and William Harris. 

WAND News also picked up three nominations for investigative reporting, educational reporting, and promotion of non-news programming. 

"This is a real honor to have our work recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Mid-America Chapter," said WAND News Director Rod Hissong. "We work hard everyday to bring the best journalism and storytelling to our viewers. To get this recognition from our peers across the industry is gratifying and humbling."

The Emmy Awards were presented Saturday at a gala in Overland Park, Kansas. 

WAND was honored earlier this year with a national Edward R. Murrow Award.
