DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — WAND has received a national Edward R. Murrow Award by the Radio Television News Directors Association (RTDNA).
The Murrow Awards are among the most prestigious in journalism.
They are the embodiment of the values, principles and standards set forth by Edward R. Murrow, a journalism pioneer who set the standards for the highest quality of broadcast journalism.
WAND was recognized for Excellence in Writing. The submission was compiled by WAND Wake Up Anchor Deron Molen.
The national award follows two regional Murrow Awards given to WAND in May. Both of those regional entries were automatically entered into the national competition.
