(WAND) - Winter is not done with central Illinois yet.
After a mild start to the day, much colder air blows in this morning on strong gusty winds.
Temperatures will fall through the 40s into the 30s this afternoon to lows in the 20s tonight. Along with the colder air, rain showers will develop this morning and quickly change over to snow showers later this morning into the afternoon.
While accumulations will be on the light side (a dusting to one-half inch), reduced visibility will be an issue with the strong winds of 50 mph or higher.
A "Wind Advisory" covers central Illinois later this morning through midnight.
Sunshine returns Thursday with highs in the 40s.
Another wintry mix moves in Thursday night and Friday.
The weekend will be mostly sunny with highs around 50°. It turns much warmer early next week with 60s Monday and around 70° Tuesday.
