Drivers traveling through Maroa on Route 51 will notice a change in speed limits starting Tuesday. According to Maroa Police Chief Fitzgerald, the Illinois Department of Transportation began replacing speed limit signs along Route 51, lowering the speed limit from 55 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour.
