Illini fans make the trek to SC to watch Illinois in the NCAA Tournament

GREENVILLE, SC (WAND) -- 3-seed Illinois opened up their NCAA Tournament Thursday night against 14-seed Penn in Greenville, South Carolina. 

Illini fans always travel well and that is no different for this time around when it was announced Illinois would be in the south region of the tournament. 

For many they have traveled along with the team all season long and for some it's a family tradition set 25 years ago picking a first round site and just going and this year getting lucky to see the Illini in action. 

Illinois defeated Penn 105-70, they will now face 11-seed VCU Saturday night.
