Keaton Wagler

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Illinois guard Keaton Wagler earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors for the second straight week.

Illinois Athletics said that Wagler received the award for the third time this season.

Wagler helped the Illini score key wins over #19 Iowa and Rutgers last week. He scored a game-high 19 points against the Hawkeyes and a game-high 17 points in a home win over the Scarlet Knights.

This is the fifth time this season that an Illini player has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week, with David Mirkovic having earned the honor twice, per Illinois Athletics.
